Work-Based Learning
Work-Based Learning (WBL) is the only component of Career and Technical Education designed to connect Juniors and Seniors with career-related employment opportunities as they earn up to 6 high school credits. These experiences may be either paid or non-paid work-based experiences that include: cooperative education (Co-op), internships, on-the-job learning and pre-apprenticeships in fields related to the students’ career goals.
The Work-Based Learning Coordinator collaborates with local employers to equip students with college and career readiness skills. Through this partnership, students develop essential professional competencies and gain real-world experience. WBL participants have the opportunity to be employed in one of 14 nationally recognized Career Clusters.
